Utopian Society

The Utopian Society project in Language Arts was, in my opinion, the most creative in that class. The assignment consisted of two parts; an advertisement and a brochure, both of which, my group did online. The idea was to create a, as you might have learned from the title, utopian society.  With this utopian society, you were required to spread awareness of it, as well as increase your population by convincing people to move there.

As my group brainstormed and our ideas evolved, our utopian society changed, too. Eventually we created an underground society with different levels, each with a different function. As the final product, you would, as a citizen, first attended school, based off of your interests. Once you completed 16 years of education, you chose a job, which you would work on 8 hours a

day. If you complete these hours, your necessities, such as food, water, housing, etc would be provided, along with other needs, like health care, entertainment, etc. We advertised this society with a video and brochure.

It was great to see the end result of my own utopian society, in addition to other groups’ end result. I obtained many ideas from this project, including how to create a convincing video and brochure. This taught me how to design large plans, like a city.
