Maxwell's E-Portfolio

C-Span StudentCam

One of the early projects the class was tasked with was a video project hosted by C-Span. The competition, C-Span StudentCam, consisted of a nation-wide project video that answered "What is the most urgent issue for the new president and Congress to address in 2017?" To meet the requirements, a team of 1-3 students in grades 6th-12th would have to create a 5-7 minute video. Following the creation of my team, we discussed what topic to cover in our video. We agreed that food waste (a topic that was covered the previous year at AdVENTURE in the form of the End-Of-Year project) was a major issue that should be known. We performed major research on many different aspects of food waste such as the cause, and strategies on preventing food waste.

I feel this represents my best work because, with the many months we were given to complete this project, and the amount of resources, support, and great team-mates I had, the final result was worth the hard work. With the variety of talents on my team, including researching, video-editing , brainstorming, etc the

finalized project projected my teammates' and my

opinion of food waste and the problem is had become.

While the video did not receive an award, it was a

great chance to experience a large educational

competition and major video production situation.

The video was a wonderful opportunity to increase my

skills in the production of a video, while growing my

knowledge of presidency, the congress, and current

pressing issues.
