Charity Fair

The charity fair project was a project in which you created a product (any item that could be made by you) to sell at an exhibition night (an event where you present a project you recently completed to parents that come). The money that was gained that night went to a charity based off of the students. In addition to the product, you had to provide a trifold with an assortment of information on it including information on the charity that your team thought the money should go to, how to create your products, a cost and profit document, and the carbon footprint of making that product.

My partner and I decided to name our product Chocolate Hot Chocolate which is a candy cane with a chocolate dipped marshmallow around it, made to stir hot chocolate while adding flavor. With the profits, we chose to donate to Defenders of Wildlife. During exhibition night, many parents came and purchased my group’s and other group’s products totaling $3,468.63 profit that night! After, groups presented their chosen charity to the class, who then voted to chose only one charity to donate the money to.

This was a great project because of all the items I created and learned about. I created a trifold, a cost and profit document, and a carbon footprint of making that product. In addition, I learned about charities and certain organizations. Not only did I learn about so many things, I also raised money that went to charity.
