Exploring Success

One of the many projects in science was Evolution 101. This was assigned as the class was nearing the end of the evolution unit. The task was to, with a partner, choose one of the 5 projects you had the option to complete. In my case, my partner was Hoang-Ha and together we decided to do Exploring Success. To successfully complete the project we were required to “develop  a website on a class of organisms that explains their evolutionary history, detailing the features that have provided opportunities for success, as well as evolutionary constraints,” as said on the project website. We selected mosses as our organisms and began by creating a google doc, researching and learning about mosses.

Once we finished researching and answering the questions, we created a Wix website. Next, my partner and I transferred over the text and practiced presenting. As everyone was presenting, it was interesting to see all the different results from the projects, especially the other groups that had chosen Exploring Success, like Hoang-Ha and me.

As you can tell, this project provided many options, even to the extent of what project you could do. This freedom is true in many other projects this year and is one reason why AdVENTURE projects are so good. I enjoyed working, researching, creating a website, and presenting this project with my partner and feel that I took many experiences away and added much more information on mosses.
